Well time is creeping up on us now, it's only a matter of hours before Chris leaves and my heart is slowly breaking and sliding into my tummy. I hate when he leaves! But there are some good things that are going to come out of this deployment, whenever we are apart we cant stand it, therefor it brings us closer as a couple and it strengthens our reationship and the best part about him leaving is the day he comes home :) everything feels so different, but in a good way. I cant say where he is going until after he is there and is safe. But I do know that he will be safe because I will pray for him every night. Well I better get back to spending time with him, will update again tomorrow.
Riley is such a Happy little Guy, the only time he whines is when he's hungry or wants his Mommy. Riley is almost 1 and just started crawling, he now says "Dada" "Baba" "Gaga" and "bobo" (I think he might be trying to say brother) and boy do Him and Gabe love each other. Gabe was never jealous of Riley and they are very loving to one another. Whenever Riley whines Gabe comes to the rescue to give him a toy to try to make him happy, it's so cute. I think Riley is going to be the "bigger" little brother to Gabe though, lol. Riley is still a "nursing" baby, but eat "table food" most of the time now. So in a couple months I will be weaning him away :)

Gabriel is almost 3 years old and has had a pretty rough life (in my eyes) to him it might not seem that rough, but if I were in his position I would think of it as rough! For starters he was born with Eczema and has had it since then, everyday for the last 3 years I have had to keep lotions and medicines on him 2-4 times a day. When he was 18 months old we found out that he had a heart defect called ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) what is that you might ask? Well for one I have enclosed a picture to show you. Two you have four chambers in the heart in which there is a wall called the "septum" between the chambers, well in Gabe's case the upper two chambers (atria) did not have a wall and thus causing the blood that entered the left side of the heart automatically shunted over to the right side, causing his lungs to get double the amount of oxiginated blood. He had really no symptoms except poor growth, this kind of defect usually causes shortness of breath in which he did not have. So his cardiologist gave him till he was 2 to see if maybe just maybe he might grow his own septum, but he did not. So on February 10th 2009 he had open heart surgery. This was the scariest day of my life, I prayed and prayed and prayed some more that he survives his surgery and he did. He bounced back so fast, the usual stay for heart surgery patients is about 5-7 days and we were out of there in 3, we got to come home on Valentines Day :) what I think is so great about this is that he won't remember any of it. Only what I tell him and the pictures I show him. Also while we were there since it was so close to V-Day I made the V-Day gift bags for all the Children at the Childrens Hospital. Some of the parents were so grateful that they even gave little gifts back in which I have stored away for Gabe when he's older. Here are a few pictures.

Hmm. First post...how to start? Well I think I will start off with a little about my Family and I. I am a 26 years young, I have 2 beautiful Boys Gabriel (3) and Riley (1) and my Husband Chris who is in the Air Force. Gabriel just recently (Feb) had to have Open Heart Surgery due to a ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) he was such a little trooper through it all. I met my Husband back in 2003 right after my Dad had passed away :( more or less Chris was my "savior" and my Knight in Shining Armor. We have been through so much together and held tight through it all. He is truely an amazing person! This Holiday is going to be a lonely one for our family though, as my Husband will be deployed through it :( but we are going to make the best of it by sending lots of care packages and pictures and keeping in touch as often as possible. I wanted to go down to Texas for the Holidays (That's where my In-Laws are) but traveling by car almost 2,000 miles during winter is just not safe when it's just Me and my 2 little guys. So this Thanksgiving and Christmas My Parents are going to come down and spend it with me here. Chris does not know this, but for this Christmas I am going to be getting him a lot of framed car posters and a mini fridge to put in the garage (he works on cars a lot) he has always wanted a mini fridge in there! So when he returns from his deployment the garage will be spotless and decorated with the things he has wanted in there. I think it will be a nice surprise for him! Well I could go on forever, but we'll save that for other posts.
